Kyle Walker's elbow caught Fakhreddine Ben Youssef in Volgograd on 18 June 2018, and Sassi levelled from the spot in the 35th minute before Harry Kane won it for England in stoppage time. He has two World Cups behind him, fourth place at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, a hundredth cap in December 2025, the CAF Confederation Cup twice with Sfaxien in 2013 and Zamalek in 2019, and league titles in Egypt and Qatar.
