Sixteen seasons at Al-Jaish, from 1994 to 2010, broken only by short loans to Kuwait and to Persepolis, and he wore the Syria captain's armband on top of that. His Al-Jaish years brought the 2004 AFC Cup, the first won by a Syrian club, in an all-Damascus final against Al-Wahda, plus six league titles and five Syrian Cups; for Syria, 35 caps, five goals and the 1996 Asian Cup.
