Grandfather, father and uncles all played professionally in Syria, so he arrived at Tishreen carrying a name the domestic game already knew. He won back-to-back Syrian Premier League titles there in 2019-20 and 2020-21, has 40 caps since his debut in July 2019, and was in the squad that took Syria to the last sixteen of the 2023 Asian Cup.
