Newcastle had waited seventy years for a domestic trophy when he swept a low finish past Caoimhín Kelleher just after half-time in the 2025 League Cup final at Wembley. He had already won the Copa del Rey with Real Sociedad in 2020, and he remains Sweden's youngest goalscorer, seventeen years and 113 days old when he opened the scoring against Slovakia in 2017.
