Guadalajara's tenth championship came in the Verano 1997 final, where Ramírez drove the midfield through a 6-1 second leg that beat Toros Neza 7-2 on aggregate. He lifted the 1999 Confederations Cup at the Azteca, won three Gold Cups and was named the 1993 tournament's best player, played at the 1994 and 1998 World Cups, and finished with 119 caps and 14 goals for Mexico.
