Sion signed him out of Wydad and he repaid them with the Swiss Cup in 1986, the year he drove Morocco's attack in Mexico; two years later he was voted best player of the Africa Cup of Nations his own country hosted. Runner-up for African Footballer of the Year in 1986, he won the Botola and four Throne Cups with Wydad, bronze at the 1980 Africa Cup of Nations and Mediterranean Games gold in 1983, over 57 caps for Morocco.
