Paulo César Carpegiani put him into the Al-Nassr side at eighteen in 1984, and eight years later his three goals in Japan made him top scorer of the 1992 Asian Cup. Winner of the 1988 Asian Cup, runner-up in 1992 and at the first King Fahd Cup that year, he took three Saudi league titles with Al-Nassr, played the 1994 World Cup and retired on 24 international goals.
