Parviz Ghelichkhani

Known for three continental championships, a winning goal in a final, national captaincy and a confederation club cup. Nobody in the current Iran 33 comes close on criteria 1 and 2, yet he is absent entirely. Biggest achievements: AFC Asian Cup winner 1968, 1972 and 1976, still the record for a single player; scored the 2-1 winner in the 1968 final against Israel; captain of the 1976 Asian Cup-winning side and of Iran at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics; 1974 Asian Games gold as captain; Asian Champion Club Tournament 1970 with Taj (Esteghlal); 66 caps.
