Two goals on his Iran debut, against Qatar on 29 February 2012, settled the question of which country the Wolfsburg winger would answer to, and he started the World Cup opener against Nigeria two years later. Bundesliga champion with Wolfsburg in 2008-09, European Under-21 winner with Germany the following summer, Hazfi Cup winner with Tractor in 2019-20, and eleven goals in fifty-nine Iran caps.
