
Zakariás played the deep half-back role behind Puskás and Hidegkuti at Wembley on 25 November 1953, the afternoon Hungary beat England 6-3, and he started the 1954 World Cup final in Bern. Olympic champion in Helsinki in 1952, World Cup runner-up in 1954, winner of the 1953 Central European Championship, with 35 caps for Hungary and a Hungarian league title in 1953.
