His corner in the Euro 2004 semi-final against the Czech Republic found Traianos Dellas, and the header that followed remains the only silver goal ever scored at a major tournament. A European champion that summer, he had already won two Greek championships and two cups with AEK Athens, scored twenty-six league goals in 1995-96 to finish top scorer, and been christened El Mago in Seville.
