Four goals carried him through the 1982 Nations Cup, two of them against Algeria in the semi-final and one that put Ghana ahead of hosts Libya in Tripoli on 19 March, in a final the Black Stars won 7-6 on penalties. The golden boot and a place in the team of the tournament came with that second continental title, after 1978, and he had already won the Ghanaian league with Great Olympics in 1974.
