Ecuador called him Demoledor, and in Germany he delivered twice: 24 minutes into the opener against Poland on 9 June 2006, then inside eight minutes against Costa Rica six days later to carry the country into the last 16 for the first time. Two World Cups, 12 international goals, the Ecuadorian title with LDU Quito in 2003, three Qatar Stars League titles with Al-Sadd, and the Qatari golden boot in 2006 with 21 league goals.
