Salomon Olembé

Two first-half goals in Bamako on 7 February 2002, the second in stoppage time, knocked hosts Mali out of their own semi-final and carried Cameroon into a final they won on penalties against Senegal. Olembé shared that tournament's golden boot with Patrick Mboma and Julius Aghahowa, had already won the 2000 Africa Cup of Nations, and took the French championship with Nantes in 2001 plus the Coupe de France in 1999 and 2000. Career record: 64 caps and 5 goals for Cameroon; club career at FC Nantes, Leeds United, Al-Rayyan.
