Twenty-two goals and eleven assists in the 2018-19 Ligue 1 season carried Lille to second behind PSG and made Pépé the Prix Marc-Vivien Foé winner, and on 1 August 2019 Arsenal paid 72 million pounds for him, a club record. He won the FA Cup in 2020 and the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, and made the Ligue 1 team of the year in 2019.
