Editorial rank of 33 for Brazil
The people's rank, live from duel votes

Known for two World Cups as a starter puts him above every 1982 name on titles alone. He was also the tactical hinge of both sides, the winger who tracked back and let Brazil play 4-3-3 before anyone else did. Criterion 1 twice, and criterion 5 as the man who changed how the front line was organised. Biggest achievements: World Cup winner 1958 and 1962, scored in the 1958 final; started every match of both tournaments; later the first man to win the World Cup as player and as head coach (1970).
