
On 31 March 1963 in La Paz he scored in the wild 5-4 win over Brazil that handed Bolivia the South American Championship, one of three goals he struck in that tournament after earlier strikes against Peru and Paraguay. That title remains the only continental crown Bolivia has ever won, and García took it as a forward of Jorge Wilstermann, the club he served for more than a decade. Career record: club career at C.D.
