In June 2023 his 36th goal for Uzbekistan moved him past Maksim Shatskikh, and two years on he was the captain who took the country to its first World Cup. He finished the 2025-26 Süper Lig as joint top scorer on 22 goals with Başakşehir, won the Europa Conference League with Roma in 2022, and holds the Uzbek scoring record with 45 in 95 caps.
