Doha, 30 November 2022: Khazri scored past France at Stadium 974 and Tunisia beat the reigning world champions 1-0 in the last game of their group. His winner against Panama in 2018 was Tunisia's first World Cup victory in forty years and the 2,500th goal in the tournament's history, and he finished with 25 goals in 74 caps, second on Tunisia's all-time list, having been named Tunisian Footballer of the Year in 2018. The 1996 Africa Cup of Nations semi-final turned on Baya's goal after twenty minutes, and Tunisia beat Zambia 4-2 to reach the final. He was named in the Team of the Tournament that year, took a runners-up medal from the final against South Africa, won the African Cup Winners' Cup with Étoile du Sahel, was twice Tunisian Footballer of the Year, and scored six goals in eight qualifiers to send Tunisia to the 2002 World Cup.
