In November 2007 Gardner opened the scoring against Bayern Munich at the Allianz Arena, his first club goal in almost five years and a rare flourish in 14 seasons and 342 league games at Bolton. He started all three group matches at France 98 as a 19-year-old, won the Caribbean Cup that year, and finished with 111 caps and nine goals for Jamaica. Leicester's captain in 2015-16 played every minute of all 38 league games, and in March 2017 Morgan became the first Jamaican to score in the Champions League. He was Premier League champion and PFA Team of the Year in that season, added the 2021 FA Cup and the 2014 Championship, and won 30 caps for Jamaica after 402 appearances for Nottingham Forest.
