A curling shot from the edge of the box on 31 December 2022 gave Everton a 1-1 draw with Manchester City and won Gray the Premier League Goal of the Month. He was a Premier League champion with Leicester in 2015-16, switched from England's youth teams to Jamaica in 2023, and made the Gold Cup Best XI in his first tournament for them, with seven goals in 29 caps.

His goal against Croatia in Lens on 14 June 1998 arrived in the 45th minute and was the first Jamaica ever scored at a World Cup, one of only eight caps he won. Before that came 294 league games and 77 goals for Port Vale, including both in the 1989 Third Division play-off final, then 284 games and 59 goals for Wimbledon, whom he captained from 1995. Career record: 33 caps and 8 goals for Jamaica; club career at Stoke City, Port Vale, Wimbledon; honours include Hall of Fame.
