Al Ahly fans named the front three of Barakat, Aboutrika and Emad Moteab the Bermuda Triangle, and in 2005 he finished the CAF Champions League as its joint top scorer with seven goals. That season brought him the BBC African Footballer of the Year award and CAF's prize for the best player based in Africa; he won four CAF Champions Leagues and seven league titles with Al Ahly, and the 2006 Cup of Nations with Egypt. Six CAF Champions Leagues with Al Ahly, in 2001, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2012 and 2013, seven Egyptian league titles, three Cup of Nations winners' medals, and 114 caps that produced exactly one goal, against Kenya in 2011.
