Coming off the bench against England on 2 June 1984, he scored the opening goal of a 2-0 Soviet Union win, and he gave Dinamo Minsk more than a decade on the wing. A European Championship runner-up medal from 1988 sits with the Soviet league title Dinamo Minsk won in 1982, thirty-one caps for the Soviet Union, and four Belarusian Footballer of the Year awards between 1983 and 1989.
