Ján Švehlík

Known for criterion one in its purest form. He scored the first goal of a European Championship final, and his own Slovan team-mates from that side, Ondruš, Dobiaš, Masný and Jurkemik, are all in the squad. There is no defensible reading of the standard in which the man who opened the scoring in the final is left out. Biggest achievements: European champion with Czechoslovakia at Euro 1976, scoring the opening goal of the final against West Germany; Czechoslovak league titles with Slovan Bratislava.
