Known for criterion one. Poland's 1972 Olympic gold is one of only three major titles the nation has ever won, and seven members of that team are already in the squad. Maszczyk was a regular in both the gold-medal side and the 1974 bronze team. Biggest achievements: Olympic gold with Poland at Munich 1972; third place at the 1974 World Cup; Polish league titles with Ruch Chorzów.
