Thirty-one seconds into the second leg of the 1975 Libertadores final, El Trucha had already scored, the fastest goal in the history of those finals, and Independiente went on to beat Unión Española 3-1. Rojas won the Copa América with Peru that same year and the Copa Interamericana in 1976, one of only two Peruvians to hold both a Libertadores and a Copa América, and he took four Peruvian titles with Universitario.
