On 22 November 1996 he collected the ball inside his own penalty area at San Siro, ran the length of the field past every Verona player who came at him, and finished. Weah is the only African to win the Ballon d'Or, in 1995, together with the first FIFA World Player award that year, two Serie A titles with Milan, the 1995 Cup Winners' Cup with Paris Saint-Germain and three African Footballer of the Year honours.
