Kariri opened the scoring in the 29th minute in Dammam on 25 March 2005 as Saudi Arabia beat South Korea 2-0 in the final round of qualifying for the 2006 World Cup. He won the AFC Champions League with Al-Ittihad in 2004 and 2005, was in the Saudi squad that reached the 2007 Asian Cup final, took the Gulf Cup in 2003, and added two Saudi Professional League titles, two King Cups and the Arab Club Champions Cup.
