Al-Ittihad had him from 1985 to 2000 and nowhere else, and he was in the Saudi back line on 29 June 1994 when Saeed Al-Owairan ran from his own half against Belgium and the country reached the last sixteen on its first World Cup appearance. Two Asian Cup titles with Saudi Arabia, in 1988 and 1996, a runners-up medal in 1992, the 1994 Gulf Cup, three Saudi league titles with Al-Ittihad, and 117 caps between 1986 and 1998.
