Wearing 22, he started all three group games in France in 1998, and those performances turned a £70,000 signing from March 1993 into a £300,000 sale from Portsmouth to Coventry. He made the 1998 Gold Cup team of the tournament, scored 14 goals in 41 caps for Jamaica, hit 37 in 188 games at Fratton Park, and took the PFA Third Division team of the year in 2002-03.
