Cairo, 16 October 2009: Ghana played from the 37th minute with ten men in the Under-20 World Cup final, and Mensah's own penalty in the shootout was saved before Brazil missed three of theirs. That title made Ghana the first African winner of the tournament; he added a 2010 Africa Cup of Nations runners-up medal, a World Cup quarter-final that summer, and the 2020 MLS Cup as Columbus Crew captain. Career record: club career at Free State Stars, Granada CF, Evian Thonon Gaillard.
