El Principito remains the all-time top scorer of the UNCAF Nations Cup with 19 goals, and he finished with 47 in 113 Costa Rica caps between 1992 and 2011, still the national record. He played at the 2002 World Cup, won three CONCACAF Champions' Cups with Saprissa in 1993 and 1995 and Alajuelense in 2004, took six Costa Rican championships and added six more in Guatemala with Comunicaciones.
