Two days after the 1974 final finished 2-2, Mulamba scored both goals in the Cairo replay to beat Zambia, watched by roughly a thousand people, having already scored twice in the first match. His nine goals at that tournament are still the record for a single Africa Cup of Nations, which Zaire won that year; he added the 1973 African Cup of Champions Clubs with AS Vita Club and six Zairean league titles.
