Yakimov and Sokolov from the same generation are listed at 82; the man regarded as the best Bulgarian of the 1950s and 1960s alongside Asparuhov is not. Biggest achievements: Olympic bronze with Bulgaria at Melbourne 1956; 17 seasons and 304 matches for CSKA Sofia through their most dominant era; played the 1962 and 1966 World Cups; the first Bulgarian player nominated for the Ballon d'Or.
