M'Bolhi made eleven saves against Germany in Porto Alegre on 30 June 2014, holding the eventual champions scoreless for 90 minutes before Algeria lost 2-1 in extra time. Five years later he kept every minute of Algeria's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations win, taking man of the match in the final against Senegal and the tournament's best goalkeeper award, then the 2021 FIFA Arab Cup, across 96 caps between 2010 and 2024.
