Olympic champion in Rome in 1960 after scoring twice against the United Arab Republic and twice against Turkey, runner-up and Team of the Tournament at that year's European Nations' Cup, five Yugoslav titles, three cups, and back-to-back league top-scorer crowns in 1959 and 1960.
