Emmanuel Baba Dawud, whom a youth coach christened Ammo Baba, scored Iraq's first goal in international football, against Morocco at the Pan Arab Games in Beirut in 1957. He coached Iraq in seven separate spells and won Asian Games gold in 1982, the Gulf Cup in 1979, 1984 and 1988 and the Arab Nations Cup in 1988, having scored 12 goals in 17 caps as a player and taken league titles with Al-Haras Al-Malaki and Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya. Career record: 17 caps and 11 goals for Iraq; club career at Haris Al-Maliki, Al-Athori SC, Al-Quwa Al-Jawiya.
