Paris, 10 July 1960: four minutes into the second half of the first European Nations' Cup final, the winger levelled against Yugoslavia and set the Soviet Union on the way to a 2-1 win in extra time. The 1960 European title came with a place in the team of the tournament, followed by three World Cups with the USSR and Soviet league titles at Torpedo Moscow in 1960 and Dinamo Tbilisi in 1964.
