Sent off against Brazil in 1994 at 17 years and 358 days, he is still the youngest player dismissed at a World Cup, and he took a second red against Chile in 1998. Cameroon's most capped player with 137 appearances, captain of the Africa Cup of Nations winners in 2000 and 2002, holder of the record 35 appearances at that tournament, and a two-time Turkish champion with Galatasaray.
