Kuffour spent the minutes after the 1999 Champions League final in Barcelona lying face down on the turf, beating the ground with his fists, and Bayern's supporters took him to heart for it. Two years later he played all 120 minutes of the final Bayern did win against Valencia, then scored the goal that beat Boca Juniors in Tokyo, and he collected six Bundesliga titles, four German cups and Olympic bronze with Ghana at 15.
